Mo Talukder

Chair

Mo was appointed Chair of the National HMO Network in 2019 having served on the Steering Group since 2015.

She is a multi-award winning leader and champion with a successful career spanning over 20 years in Housing and Property both in the residential and commercial sector . She holds multiple Property directorships and has extensive experience as a Property Director and Landlord including spanning the PRS, social and charity sectors.

Mo has been featured on TV internationally including the BBC and ITV, various radio stations and media outlets. Her accolades include Finalist for Woman of the Year, UK Housing Awards 2023, Winner of NLA Property Woman of the Year, Best SME WOW Award and a member of the UN Habitat Executive Forum. She supports a number of social responsibility initiatives including mentoring women to support career progression and sponsorship of children in developing countries to gain education and access to decent meals.

She has a strong foundation in Systems and Digital transformation delivering several public and private sector complex digital transformation programmes whilst working at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Cadbury Schweppes, Government, FMCG, SMEs and Startups.

Academically a high flyer, she schooled at the UK’s leading selective grammar, Henrietta Barnett, and achieved a First Class degree at a Russell Group University. She is an accomplished musician, playing flute and piccolo in orchestras and enjoys travelling. She is also one of Google’s top global reviewers with over 100 million views.

Richard Price

Treasurer

Richard was the first landlord to join the Network Steering group some 16 years ago and is now the Treasurer. He has over twenty years’ experience as a landlord with a mixed portfolio.

He also has nineteen years’ experience working on behalf of landlords at a local, national and international level, and eight years’ experience as a letting agent for just a select few properties.

Richard is an Honorary Vice President of the UIPI (International Union of Property Owners based in Brussels), a director of the UK Association of letting Agents and is a member of several British Standards Institution committees relevant to housing.

Robin Stewart

Robin is a senior associate at Anthony Gold. He specialises in property litigation, especially landlord and tenant disputes, and the regulatory law relating to rented property. Robin’s practice involves acting for landlords, tenants, property professionals, homeowners and businesses.
He enjoys using specialist expertise to help a wide range of different types of client; he believes that it is vital that every client has access to quality advice and, when necessary, a robust advocate.

Greg Warwick

Greg is another long standing Network member and has recently retired as a local government environmental health officer after many years of experience as a private sector housing officer, including setting up and managing HMO licensing schemes. 

Shaon Talukder

Shaon is a founder of Ideal Rooms together with Mo, and also an experienced property and IT company director with an interest in HMOs, environmental sustainability and charitable works.

Paul Fitzgerald

Paul has been a former Chair of the Network and continues to assist the Steering Group.

He has over 30 years experience as an Environmental Health Officer in both the public and private sector, and has been involved with training programmes with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, particularly in the field of HHSRS

Renee-Marie Young

Renee-marie joined the steering group with her wealth of housing, event and training management experience.   Renee-marie started her career in housing over 17 years ago working within both the social and private sectors, specialising in anti-social behaviour then moving into education, event management and training fields.  She has worked around the UK with various Local Authorities and Stakeholders to promote best practice of landlords and agent rights and responsibilities.  She was instrumental in designing and coordinating the delivery of landlord and agent training, including assisting to write HMO management and landlords taxation, possession, landlord safety, anti-social behaviour, plus legal requirements and agent obligations courses and topics.  Renee-marie is currently working for the London Borough of Newham managing specialist legal and disrepairs cases and vulnerable and elderly adult’s projects.  She is also assisting with the management of the family landlord businesses’ and her own landlord consultancy.
