I am a Director of Ideal Rooms and have been in the HMO Sector for 10 years. My experience in this sector and has enabled me to advise and help landlords and council officials alike when providing practical solutions and insight into operations of HMOs. My time spent in operations in both the service and hospitality has helped us to raise standards for accommodation and remain at the forefront of the private rented sector.
Having attended the HMO Network Conferences and meetings, I’ve contributed the landlord / property company’s perspective. I believe my contribution will help with steering on practical policies that are effective in this niche sector.
My property experience spans various aspects of residential buy to let from single occupancy to multi-tenant corporate lets as well as the hospitality industry. I have also led projects of various sizes in both design and development.
I qualified as a Pharmacist and worked in this profession for 10 years both in local and national pharmacy chains in retail and consulting.
In 2004, I set up Pharmaid, an Emergency Relief fund that managed to procure and deliver over £6m worth of medicine and supplies to the people on the ground during the 2004 South East Asian Tsunami. We were one of the few organisations successful in placing drugs with those in need as we obtained the relevant clearances in each of the territories. Sadly, other organisations medical donations only made it as far as the customs warehouses as they lacked the expertise and partnerships in getting these cleared.
Ideal Rooms also has a CSR policy that focuses on green policies and supports a school for orphans and poverty stricken families in Bangladesh.
My directorships also include a group of IT companies which deliver products for varying sectors including Travel, Healthcare, Education and HR.
